In order that you are able to access the CoSI programme, we store your username, your password, your email address and (if you entered this information at registration) the name and location of the school or institution where you work. This information is securely stored in the Word Press underpinning our CoSI website (in order to allow you access to our materials on this website), to which only the administrators have access. The administrators are members of the CoSI team and the web page designer at the University of Kent. We also regularly download this information into a password-secured Excel file stored within a password-secured OneDrive folder in order that we can email you once per year to ask you a few brief questions about if and how you used our CoSI programme. This is in order to demonstrate breadth of impact to our funder.
UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) means that we need to provide you with some further information relating to how your personal information will be used and managed within our Conversation for Social Interaction (CoSI) research and programme development. This is in addition to any details provided on the registration site.
The University of Kent will act as the Data Controller for this study. This means that the University is responsible for looking after your information and using it properly.
In order to collect and use your personal information as part of the CoSI project, we must have a basis in law to do so. The basis that we are using is that the research and our programme are ‘a task in the public interest’.
Further information, including details about how and why the University of Kent processes your personal information, how we keep your information secure, and your legal rights (including how to complain if you feel that your personal information has not been handled correctly), can be found in the University’s Privacy Notice https://www.kent.ac.uk/about/assurance-and-data-protection/privacy-notices
If you would prefer that we do not contact you again, please let us know by replying to this email and we will remove your registration details, both from Word Press and also from our password-secured Excel file.
